in Higher Education
The Continuous Quality Improvement Network (CQIN) is a learning community of higher education leaders who are united by their pursuit of performance excellence. CQIN supports this transformational journey by providing learning and networking opportunities that foster innovation and ignite change.
Although CQIN membership is assigned to the institution’s CEO, our main learning event, Summer Institute, is designed with teams in mind. This model ensures senior level buy-in and employee engagement, both of which are essential to driving change.
Our team approach is known to have exceptional impact because it brings together individuals from different parts of the institution and gives them a voice, breaking down silos and promoting diversity of thought. It inspires energy to form around an idea, giving it the momentum and synergy it needs to take root and transform the institution.
Every year, we select a learning theme that is important to our members. We partner with world-class organizations that are recognized quality leaders in their field and have demonstrated success with the chosen theme. These Learning Partners participate in our educational events to share their transformational journeys and the strategies behind their success.
Over the years, we’ve explored how to create a culture of accountability, engage employees to improve organizational performance, lead and manage change, and more. Our themes build on each other from one year to the next, allowing members to plan strategically.
Our Learning Partners have included recipients of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, Lockheed Martin, Poudre Valley Health System, and the City of Irving, TX, as well as distinguished organizations like Disney Institute/Disney World, NASA/Kennedy Space Center, and Kimberly-Clark.
By studying models outside of higher education, institutions are able to evaluate their challenges through a different lens and translate new ideas into solutions that fit their needs.
Belonging to CQIN means belonging to a knowledgeable network of like-minded peers. CEOs and executive-level individuals have access to private events where they can candidly discuss difficult challenges facing their institutions and evaluate solutions.
